At Northeast High School, the Full Service School Program involves cooperation among parents, students, health, education, and social service providers to link students, families, and school faculty with needed resources. This collaborative effort aims to coordinate services to ensure at-risk students secure the services and support which will help them thrive and achieve their potentials, including academic success.
The Clinic at Northeast High School is a venture of the Pinellas County Public
Health Unit that started in August of 1991. It is a community-based cooperative
effort among the Pinellas County Schools, and the Juvenile Welfare Board, Health
Rehabilitative Services, and the Pinellas County Health Department. The clinic
is staffed by Pinellas County Health Department employees.
Services provided at no cost to students include:
- Health physicals (routine, school and sports physicals)
- Immunizations
- Administration of prescriptions for routine medications
- Health education
- Care for acute illness and injury
- Care for common adolescent physical/problems
- Follow-up as requested by physician
- Nutrition counseling
- Educational information and counseling
- Social service assistance
- Pregnancy check-ups
- Abstinence counseling and family planning information
- Referral services
- Communicable Disease Testing and Treatment
Note: Parental consent is required prior to provisions of services to students.
